Edmond Cardboard Boat Regatta 2014

It’s quickly approaching. The date is June 27th, and the start time is 6:30pm. It will be nice to not have to get up as the sun is rising this year. I began construction of a new boat back on tax day. I finally have a great job and an office where I can work on things during lunch. Now, an hour a day at lunch isn’t much time, so I’m sure glad I chose to start back in April. The race is in two weeks, and I’m not quite finished with the boat.

I hate to admit it, but my first attempt this year fell victim to the measure twice rule. I had made a nice set of jigs and folded a center section very nicely when I realized after 2 weeks of work that I had made the entire thing too small. (I began with an inner skin section, and then accidentally built another inner skin section on it, instead of an outer skin; thus making the cockpit section 3″ too narrow for even my tiny self.)

Here is the video of the 1&2 man victory on my Youtube Channel. The Team & Youth races are on my channel also.
